Learn foreign words and take quizzes from your Mac.

Wokabulary is a Mac program that might come in handy to people who are just starting to learn a foreign language.

With its help, you can learn and organize foreign words, put your knowledge to the test, and sync the stored information across your iPad or iPhone.

The app comes with a nicely-designed interface and provides you with useful instructions. The first thing you need to do is to create a vocabulary project and indicate the language you wish to learn as well as your native language. Then, all that's left to do is to add items to your vocabulary.

You can import CSV, TXT, or WOKV files that contain foreign words and their correspondent translations. The app also lets you add entries manually; click the "Add Word" button, enter the foreign word and the translation, and save.

Once you finish adding words to your list, you can take a quiz. The app will provide you with accurate statistics based on your quiz results.

Sadly, the number of available features is quite limited. You cannot export word list or create more than one language project. The only way to get rid of these limitations is by making an in-app purchase and upgrade the utility to its Pro version.

Another disadvantage is the fact that the program doesn't bring you a built-in translation tool. So, you'd still need to use your default web browser to look for the correct word translations.

In my opinion, you should first try the application and then decide if it's worth upgrading to its Pro version.
