Jubler is an open-source subtitle editing application. This piece of software will allow you to quickly edit text-based subtitles, as well as create, convert and manage new ones.
You will be able to use different font styles, either for the entire text or even for individual characters. Jubler also allows you to see how the subtitles look in three manners: current frame, waveform preview and waveform listening. What’s great about this application is that you can move and resize the subtitles directly from the interface of the program.
Moreover, you will be able to test and play the subtitles with the movie due to the built-in video player (mplayer). This feature is especially useful since it allows you to edit the subtitles, add a new one or synchronize them in real time while playing the movie. You are provided with a "Spell check" function that coupled with support for dictionary selection will allow you to get the right spelling even for complicated medical or technical terms.
To sum it all up, Jubler is a feature-rich subtitle editor program that somehow makes subtitle editing look easy and entertaining.

Do not download it, not worth.
Absolutely stupid, completely unusable. Hasn't been updated and works with programs out of commission, so it just doesn't work. Video previews are completely unusable, timing captions is impossible, I'm screaming mad and ready to pull my hair out because this should be such a simple process and jubler has made it absolutely impossible while teasing me by looking like it's a functioning program. Internet garbage that should be forgotten until it's developers learn how to do anything.
