Movie Explorer is a Mac program that comes in handy if you're dealing with a large video collection and wish to easily catalogue it.

The application works with a wide variety of video formats, provides you with detailed information regarding your movies, and lets you create film lists with just a few clicks.

Its interface is very intuitive, so even Mac users with little computer experience can handle it. The app is also packed with various view modes and an integrated search tool. All you need to do is load a folder that holds you movies and the program will immediately scan the contents of the directory. Afterwards, you will have access to a list showing various info regarding your films, like original title, release date, duration, budget, and so on.

The program also gives you access to multiple technical details, such as bit rate, encoding format, resolution, etc.

My only issue with this utility is the fact that it's not entirely free. You need to make a reasonable in-app purchase in order to unlock the TV series add-on. After making the necessary payment, you can manage your TV shows collection. So, it's not imperative to make the in-app purchase, especially if you only need to app for cataloging your film collection.

All in all, this application is a great solution for inventorying your movie collection.
