Backblaze is an easy-to-use Mac application that was designed with the sole purpose of helping you create online backups for all of your data, except your operating system, temporary files and applications. With the help of this piece of software you can rest assured that you will be able to recover your important files at any time, even if your disk gets irreversibly damaged.
After installing and launching the Backblaze (from the System Preferences) you will be greeted by a simple and friendly interface from where you can start or resume the process of creating the backup or pause it if it's already running and access the "Settings" menu. This application will let you select the hard drives you want to backup, set up a warning system that will remind your to create a backup after a specific number of days or schedule the frequency of the backups (continuously, once per day or when the backup button is clicked) .
Furthermore, the Backblaze also allows you to manually modify your Internet bandwidth usage or automatically adjust the speed of the backups and you can even specify which folders you do not want to be backed up, in addition to the existing ones.
If you are worried about the security of your data, Backblaze provides you with the possibility to add a private encryption key in addition to the AES military-grade encryption system that this tool uses to encrypt your data by default. Keep in mind that if you decide to use a private key, make sure that you will remember it or else nobody (not even you) will be able to read your data. more
Application to manage an always-encrypted address book to protect your privacy and keep your contacts really private.

Be aware that it can take a long time to complete the initial backup. I've been using this application for months, and it is still doing the initial backup. That is largely dependent on your upload speed. I started out with 438 GB to back up, and now I have about 213 GB remaining.
I give this app a 5-star rating, with the caveat that I haven't tried to restore anything that is backed up.
