Transcend Elite can help you protect important and sensitive data from accidental losses, such as hardware and power failures or virus attacks. The tool is specifically intended to be used with Transcend devices, such as StoreJet® Portable Hard Drives, Portable SSDs and JetFlash® USB Flash Drives.
The application is very easy to use. In this respect, it has a straightforward workflow, which consists on creating backup tasks or restoring data when it becomes necessary. Luckily, a backup task can be run at any moment or scheduled to execute automatically at a given frequency.
The app can encrypt any file or folder. Likewise, if you go to advanced settings, it is possible to enable automatic encryption of the backed up data, which can only be accessed from the tool using the password provided. Good to hear that it uses strong 256-bit AES algorithms for this purpose.
Other features include the possibility to create a copy of your files on some cloud services on your Transcend device. However, only Google Drive and Dropbox are supported. Likewise, the tool can protect your data by locking an entire portable SSD.
In general, Transcend Elite is undoubtedly a product to consider if you own Transcend storage equipment. Regrettably, it is absolutely useless with other brands. Good news is that it is free and runs on several operating systems.
