WebStorage is a client application that helps you synchronize local files with those you store in Asus cloud. Uploading data to the Cloud not only contributes to saving local storage space but most importantly makes those files available from wherever you are. Regrettably, Asus WebStorage offers few collaboration features apart from file sharing.
The application is very easy to use. It works like a remote drive to which you can simply drag and drop files. For this purpose, you need to configure a special folder, called MySyncFolder. The tool can be configured to start along with your system and run from the Menu Bar. If you click on its icon there, a menu drops down with various options. For instance, it lets you open Asus Web Storage website as well as set your preferences.
There are some aspects you can customize to meet your interests and needs. In this regard, it is possible to set upload speed limits so that the traffic the tool generates does not interfere with your overall Internet surfing experience. Likewise, you can set a proxy server, including authentication data.
All in all, the application is OK; however, Asus WebStorage services have received a lot of criticism. Some users claim it is not very dependable, mainly because their transfer speeds are not the best. Fortunately, there is a free quota of up to 5 Gb, but, if you need more, there are various paid plans available.
