SixtyFour is a system optimization tool that helps you open 64-bit applications in a 32-bit mode. By forcing high-memory consumers to run at a lower bit mode you make your computer perform better and faster. This way, the overall system performance significantly improves and your work gets more efficient.
The SixtyFour utility opens with a pleasant interface that is both straightforward and easy to use. You don't need to be an expert in managing computer apps, since the features SixtyFour provides you with are meant to reduce the memory usage of your computer without further intervention on your side. Once you launch the program, it performs an automatic scan of your hard drive in order to identify the 64-bit apps that can be opened in a 32-bit mode. However, the tool extends its scanning capacity to external disks attached to your Mac. The program sorts the identified apps into two separate lists based on their established bit running mode.
As a system utility, the application comes with a handy Quick Look plug-in that lets you check the installed apps for detailed information. Another useful feature is ProcessTimer which works as a process viewer and CPU monitor. This function helps you determine whether you can run specific apps in a 32-bit mode or not. In addition, the SixtyFour Agent displays the bit mode of an app when launched. Also, the Agent can run as a standalone app that can be enabled to start automatically at system's login. more
