Cookie is a program that provides you with a simple way to protect your Mac from third-party hijacking while browsing the web.
The utility comes with a user-friendly interface that features simple-to-configure privacy settings. You can choose which type of data to delete from your browser's records and easily set automatic data removal at a defined interval of time.
Furthermore, this application enables you to define global hotkeys for immediately enabling/pausing Cookie or removing all unwanted data from your computer.
Sadly, in my testing, Cookie didn't work 100%. It failed to display cleaning options for all web browsers that were being installed on my Mac (I have 3 web browsers installed on my Mac). The program displayed data removal options only for the Safari application, the default Mac web browser. This can either be an issue or a limitation since I used the trial version of the utility.
Hence, I think you should first test the program on your Mac and then decide if you want to purchase its full version. At the moment, I'm not convinced whether it's worth buying this tool for my Mac or not.
Pros
- Provides you with multiple cleaning profiles
- You can define global hotkeys for immediately enabling/pausing Cookie
- Lets you schedule cleaning tasks
Cons
- Identified only one of my web browsers (Safari)
