You can now also use Reactions on Facebook comments
I'm beginning to think that the Egyptians had it right from the get-go with their hieroglyphs as nowadays, words are becoming more and more outdated. After recently adding Reactions to Messenger, Facebook is now allowing people to use this feature to respond to comments made by others on the social network. This means that from now on, instead of writing something about a comment, you can simply put heart or an upset face next to it.
From what I've seen, there are two major differences between the Reactions implementation on Messenger and the one in the comments section. For starters the thumbs down option isn't present, so you still won't be able to dislike the comments made by others. The other distinction is that when there are different Reactions to a specific comment, the faces start to crowd together and it looks a little bit untidy. However, despite its few flaws, the functionality can be advantageous as it makes it easier to share your opinion on a specific comment without forcing people to scroll down even further to see it.
The Reactions to comments feature has just started rolling out, so it may not be available to everybody just yet. Furthermore, currently, it only works on the desktop version of Facebook and there's no word about when it will arrive on Android and iOS. If the addition of comment Reactions seems underwhelming, you should check out some of the social network's more ambitious plans for the future such as the ability to read thoughts or to help people hear with their skin.
