Review

Zenmap is an application that lets users manage networks, track internet traffic, or perform other related tasks. Thanks to its embedded features, the users are able to perform the activities of system administrators or advanced users.

When you start the application, you notice that the user interface looks outmoded, resembling very much interfaces from 10 years ago, or older. There are no graphic customizations, the menu has a poorly-crafted design and the font text is badly chosen. Yet, the responsiveness of the buttons is decent and the menu is easy to navigate.

As I mentioned at the beginning, the app provides users with lots of useful functionalities. These functionalities allow individuals to display various data about concerning hosts and services, check the ports for number, state, or version, and draw the network topology. It supports multiple network mapping techniques and it includes port scanning mechanisms, version detection, ping sweeps, or OS detection. Also, if, at any point, you feel overwhelmed and have issues with the program's functionalities, you can always consult its documentation.

In conclusion, Zenmap is a network monitoring tool that allows regular users to perform advanced networking activities with ease. It's free, consumes a low amount of system resources, and you should definitely try it.
