Wokabulary is a program that brings you an innovative solution for easily learning foreign words. This application doesn't provide you with the translation of foreign words. It gives you the ability to create your own vocabulary where you can enter the foreign words alongside their translations.
An assistant tool will offer you all the help you need when creating a new vocabulary record. I tested the program by creating an English to French vocabulary. Every term you add to the app's records can be organized based on its difficulty level (for example, I entered several translations for words like dog, cat, etc. -> Level 1). After I entered a couple of English words along with their translation in the French language, the app allowed me to put my knowledge to the test.
You can choose between two types of quizzes: Typing Quiz and Flashcard Quiz. Personally, I prefer the first method as it puts your memory as well as writing skills to the test. You can choose the level of difficulty for the words from the quiz and the amount of questions per test. Once you complete your quiz, the app provides you with a detailed report based on your correct and wrong answers.
A good thing, if you're using this app on other devices like iPhones or tablets, is that you can sync the stored vocabulary records and progress among various gadgets and other Macs.
My only issue with this app is that you need to make an in-app purchase to unlock the limitation of 30 words per vocabulary. Still, the acquiring price is affordable.
All in all, I think this app is a reliable solution for studying foreign words on your Mac. It's easy-to-use, keeps track of your learning progress, and so much more.
