Password Pad Lite 1.2

Password Pad Lite is a file-security tool for Mac OS X. The application allows you to create password-protected documents that are encrypted using XOR algorithms. The paid version of this app uses a more comprehensive encryption algorithm: Triple DES.

When you first launch the application, it will create a blank document and ask you for a password to protect it. If you happen to forget that password, you won't be able to recover it. Once you set the password, you can start adding content to your document. This can be passwords for your websites, a secret letter, etc. Users are finding new uses for Password Pad Lite all the time. Some even use it to send credit card information over the Internet. From the preferences window, you can tell the application to blank out files after a certain time has passed to prevent unwanted viewings. By default, this setting is disabled.

All in all, if you are looking for a secure way of storing or sending data, the free version of Password Pad isn't your solution. Unfortunately, the encryption that it uses is weak and can be easily cracked. The pro version is another story.
