nvALT is an application based on the Notational Velocity program that provides you with additional features and brings several interface alterations.
Personally, I like the fact that you can use the same area within the program's interface to make searches and create new notes. You can customize the appearance of your notes according to your needs (change font style), import memos from other apps, and much more.
An advantage of this program is that it allows you to export your notes to various editable formats (RTF, TXT, HTML, etc.) or print them directly from its interface.
In addition, the application lets you encrypt your notes so that you may prevent other users from accessing your private data when you're away from the computer.
To sum things up, nvALT proves to be a reliable solution when it comes to managing your daily notes. The program is very simple to handle, offers plenty of useful features, and you don't have to pay to work with it; however, if you intend to use its latest release, make sure you update the application once it's installed.
