LUCiD Exposure is intended to enhance or fix your photographs by correcting exposure values. In this regard, the tool allows fixing dark photos, adding light and removing noise.

Fortunately, there is nothing complex about using the application even if you do not have previous experience with other software of this type. Good news is that there are some third-party tutorials to get you started.

The application supports importing a wide range of picture formats. However, it is shame that it does not support batch processing. Most of its interface is devoted to previewing the contents of the photograph and it is even possible to compare the original with the results side by side with the possibility of zooming in to specific regions.

Eight presets are available on the right, including Intelligent Auto, Outdoor, Night, Relight, Fix Dark, Gentle Boost, Haze Removal and Detail & Shadows. In this respect, Intelligent Auto is the best choice if you feel you do not have much photo-enhancing expertise. Moreover, you can additionally tune each preset by adjusting the Strength. Finally, when your job is done, you can save the enhanced photo to a new file.

My only dissatisfaction with this tool is that it does not support performing photo-enhancing operations other than correcting exposure levels. Still, you should know that there are other LUCiD tools intended for other purposes, such as enhancing details, correcting eyes and smoothing skin.

All in all, it is good that LUCid Exposure requires a minimum of user intervention to produce excellent results. Thus, it can save a photo which at first you thought was not worthy. The product works both as a standalone application, but many users would still prefer to use it as an extension for macOS built-in Photo app. The product is available from the Mac App Store at no cost; however, there are limits on the number of photos you can enhance.
