An app for identifying the machines on your local network.

This application is exactly what its name suggests: a Mac utility for scanning your local-area network and identifying all of the machines and devices that are being connected to it.

IP Scanner might prove to be of good use to system administrators who wish to learn if there are any unauthorized devices or machines connected to their network.

Once you launch the program on your Mac it quickly starts scanning your network and reveals information regarding the connected devices and machines. It provides you with details regarding their IP and MAC addresses, names, manufacturer, etc.

An important advantage is the fact that it allows you to sort the identified devices and machines. You can assign an icon or name to the device so that you can easily recollect it later.

The trial version of the program comes with a single limitation: it reveals information regarding a maximum of 6 devices that are being connected to your network. The only way to get rid of this restriction is to purchase the full version of the application from the homepage of the developer.

The one thing I'd change about this tool would be to add options to pause and resume scans. You can only stop the scanning process.

All in all, this program is an efficient IP scanner for Mac that provides you with accurate info and works perfectly. What's more, it's affordable.
