Instabar Pro lets you interact with your Instagram account from the menubar. It doesn't allow you to do much, but some users will probably like what this application has to offer. When you click its icon on the menubar, the application will open a small window that lets you browse your Instagram profile and to browse the most popular photos and users. The window is divided into three sections. The first one is your home screen, where your new activity will be displayed. The tab in the middle lets you browse popular content. At first, you will see a single image, but you can click on the button in the top-left corner to access a grid view of all the popular images. By clicking on one of them, you will access the user's profile, from where you can follow him or her, access their pictures and even comment them, all without needing to use a web browser. The third button takes you to your profile. Here you will see the number of photos that you have uploaded, along with how many people follow you and how many you follow.
In my testing, I found this application to be slow to react to changes in my Instagram account. I uploaded a new picture with my iPhone and I probably waited for a full ten minutes to see if the picture was added, but nothing happened. Pretty much the only thing I was able to do was browse the most popular photos by other users.
- It lets you browse top content
- The app didn't refresh with new pictures for a long while
- Limited functionality
