iFunia FLV Converter is a video conversion program that can be used to convert FLV files to other formats. It cannot open any other format than FLV, which makes it a bit limited if compared with other commercial converters out there. The output format support is quite good, including formats such as H.264, MPEG-4, WebM, MKV, MOV, WMV, and a few more. It even can convert video clips to audio files. There are conversion profiles for tablets, gaming consoles, smartphones, and other multimedia playback devices. All of Apple's devices are supported, even the new iPad Mini, which tells me that the application is frequently updated.
From a graphical standpoint, the first thing that I noticed is that the user interface is not identical to the interfaces used by most developers. Originality is something I always look for in an application. The interface is rather simple, but I like this approach. It makes it easy on the eye and functional. You will find the conversion settings and a play on the right, and your conversion queue on the left. At the top, there are two buttons that take you to the video editor, which lets you trim and crop your videos and adjust some of their properties. It can also add watermarks to videos.
In terms of performance, iFunia FLV Converter didn't disappoint me, but it didn't surprise me with great speeds either. The app takes approximately 1 second per second of 720p HD video on my Mac Mini. This is an average speed and one that I am used to seeing. The resulting file from my testing conversion looked quite good, almost as good as the original file, and I didn't detect any video or audio playback problems.
