Freedome is a VPN client that allows establishing an encrypted connection between your machine and the Internet. The application is very easy to use. It has some tabs that facilitate finding the desired feature. Most of the times, you do not even need to switch tabs because setting a connection is as simple as choosing the desired country or letting the app find the most convenient server. Then, you can click on the Connect button.
Using a VPN lets you protect your online privacy as the recipient server cannot know your real IP. Thus, the size of the network providing the services is very important as you may need to get a fake IP address from a given country. Preferably, the servers should also be spread all over the globe. Freedome does not have a very large network; however, this does not significantly affect your connection speed.
In terms of security, Freedome uses such strong encryption algorithms as AES-128 and AES-256. However, it does not seem to use OpenVPN, probably the most secure protocol. Unfortunately, it does not have a killswitch to prevent data leaks if the connection is suddenly lost. As to privacy, it is good that it does not require providing personal information. Moreover, the service providers claim that no logs of your activities are kept.
In addition to surfing the Internet without disclosing your real IP, Freedome also lets you access various streaming services, such as Netflix and BBC iPlayer. Similarly, it supports P2P connections. more
