Findings is a program that comes in handy to researchers and scientists who wish to easily manage their documentation, data regarding the progress of their experiment, and many others.

The utility can also be used for storing personal data, such as cooking recipes, tax information, etc.

Each project can have a certain experiment aim. For example, you can create a project called Cupcake and enter "Find the best dough recipe" as an aim. You can experiment multiple recipes until you reach the goal you need, which is: finding the perfect cupcake dough.

Once you finish altering your project data, you can either export it to your local directories or you can share it via email. The utility allows you to export your project info as a PDF document or as an archive file.

A disadvantage is that the program occasionally runs slow, especially when trying to access to add new elements to the project, such as protocols. Furthermore, it's missing a built-in help manual which might prove to be of good use to people who aren't familiar with this type of tools.

Still, Findings is one of the best and most feature-rich research tools I tested on my Mac. I'd say it's worth giving it a shot.

Pros

  • Provides you with a quick way to share or export the stored project data
  • Comes with a comprehensive Protocols library
  • A nicely-designed interface
  • Helps you keep track of your progress thanks to its timers and timestamps

Cons

  • Occasionally runs slow
  • Lacks a built-in help guide
