Espionage is a system security tool that allows you to encrypt your data. There are other solutions available that allow you to encrypt your system so that other users can't get their hands on your precious data, but as the developers of Espionage point out, those solutions encrypt your whole system, which can make it slow.

Espionage, on the other hand, was designed to allow you to encrypt individual folders.

The application integrates very well with Mac OS X, and it allows you to encrypt folders by either right-clicking on them or by using the icon on the menu bar to add new folders to the list of encrypted folders. Espionage uses very secure encryption algorithms that should be more than enough to protect your data.

Another interesting feature offered by Espionage is its ability to encrypt application data. In the screencast developed by Tao Effect, they show how Espionage can be used to encrypt your Mail.app and all the e-mails downloaded by it. The app also notices when you quit Mail and locks it automatically. This can be done with any application.

Espionage seems like a very good security tool to have. It is responsive, very easy to use, and it offers great support.
