Info updated on:

Disk Expert enables you to analyze drive space usage and quickly identify and delete large-sized files from your Mac. The utility is compatible with a wide variety of data storage containers, immediately scans the selected drive or directory, and provides you with accurate info.

This type of programs proves to be of great use if you're running out of free space on your drives and you need to know which files take up the most disk space. You can then decide which of the found large files need to be deleted and reclaim the much-needed disk space within moments.

Unfortunately, the utility doesn't feature an option to permanently delete large-sized files. It can only send them to Trash. This isn't a big deal as you can right-click the Trash icon from your Dock and select the "Empty Trash" option, a task that doesn't take much time to be completed.

Another thing you need to consider is that you can find cheaper solutions. Still, they might not be as intuitive as Disk Expert or provide you with many useful features.

In conclusion, I'd say you should give Disk Expert a try and see how it works. In my testing, the program immediately completed any given tasks and was very simple to handle. Plus, it comes with a very reasonable price.

This program is a part of Element 5 pushed via the Mac Store. I've bought it with a package and ran just the program to remove duplicate photo files. It worked well until I turned the computer off. Then it didn't work. I had to replace my system and lost everything on my hard disc. (Recovered thanks to Carbonite). The company did not stand by the product. No refund. They said I should have made a bootable disc first but that was nowhere in the instructions. Do not purchase. It may destroy your system!
