Countdowns is a simple Mac widget that displays the due date of various events in the Notification Center window.
Any event info you add in Countdowns will immediately become available in the Notification Center window (Notification Center can be accessed by clicking the dotted icon from your status bar). For example, you can enter the event Christmas and choose the 25th of December as due date. The number of the days left till the aforementioned holiday will appear in Notification Center.
You can always edit or delete event information from the Countdowns records and sync them among various devices (iPhones, iPads, other Macs, etc.).
Unfortunately, the free version of this app brings several limitations. For instance, there's a 30 day due date limitation for the events. You need to make an in-app purchase in order to get rid of this inconvenience.
Another disadvantage is that the app doesn't display screen notifications when the countdown hits zero for a certain event.
In my opinion, you can find better solutions for keeping track of the amount of time you have left until you meet your project deadlines.
