ChatMate for Facebook allows you to use Facebook Messenger right from your macOS desktop. Thus, just like the app on your phone, this one lets you chat with your friends as well as exchange voice messages, pictures, movies and files with them.

The application has a nice interface that is not too different from Facebook’s web app. Therefore, you will probably find there is no learning curve at all. Just a short exploration of its interface and you will be using most of its features without difficulty.

One of the advantages of this tool is that you can get notifications whenever you get a new message. However, if this bothers you too much, it is possible to turn on the Do Not Disturb mode, which comes in quite convenient at work.

Likewise, Chatmate for Facebook can protect your privacy in various ways. For instance, in Privacy mode, the app is automatically locked when you do not use it for a given time. Also, there is Stealth mode, which does not show the contents of your chat bubbles unless you hover the mouse over them.

Luckily, the tool integrates with other apps to let you share such contents as images, documents and movies, which means that it perfectly serves your workflow. Similarly, it can play the videos received without the need of a third-party application.

Regrettably, there are a few things that could be improved. In this respect, this product has several bug reports made by its users. Besides, it is not as versatile as other tools that support connecting to more than one messaging service or various accounts. Finally, and this is just a wish, it does not allow video chats.

All in all, Chatmate for Facebook helps you access your FB account right from your desktop, thus avoiding turning to your phone every minute to check for new messages. Fortunately, it can be tried at no cost, and if you like it, good news is that it has a very reasonable price.
