Blast is a nice productivity tool that gives you quick access to your files. The application keeps a record of everything you do on your Mac while the app is running. It sees all the files that you open, the applications that you use to open those files, etc. It will create a list of all those files and applications so that you can easily go back to them when you need them. This can save you time in many ways. The main way it can make your life easy is the fact that you don't have to open Finder and look for files the old-fashioned way. If you have worked all morning with 5 different .doc files, you can simply click on Blast's icon on the menubar and find them there.
Blast's main window shows a list of all the recent documents. You can sort them by file type (image, documents, audio, video, etc). And you can also add folders or files to the sidebar for quick access. The window can be resized by dragging from the bottom of it. Blast can be accessed using a customizable hotkey and from the Preferences window there is an option to customize how many items Blast will keep on its main window. By default, the value is 250, which should be enough.
