Blast 3.1

Blast is a 2D fixed shooter game for Mac where the player controls a spaceship and fires lasers at descending enemy spacecrafts. This application is almost identical to Space Invaders, an arcade game which was very popular in the late 70s.

Your goal is to maneuver your spaceship in such way that you can avoid colliding with enemy crafts and missiles and protect your planet from the alien invasion. This app provides you with nice graphics, plenty of game options, three levels of difficulty, spacecraft customizations, and many other.

You have access to plenty of gameplay instructions and dozens of power-ups. The more points you collect (by destroying spaceships), the more chances you have to reach the first place on the Highscores list.

The only disadvantage I could find during my testing was that the application doesn't allow you to save game progress.

To sum things up, Blast is an entertaining and addictive arcade game that can keep you in front of your Mac for hours with its challenging levels. The application comes with an affordable price, brings a wide range of missions, and offers plenty of power-ups.
