XLD is a Mac utility that enables you to decode, play, and convert lossless audio files. This application might prove to be of good use if you're dealing with incompatibility issues between your sound files and the program or device you're using for playing the music.
The program works with various audio formats, such as FLAC, APE, WV, TTA, M4A, TAK, SHN, AIFF, and many others. Before loading any data make sure you configure the app's settings according to your needs. The program automatically starts converting and decoding data as soon as you import it.
A great advantage is that the utility takes a very small amount of time to finish the decoding and conversion processes. In addition, it uses minimum CPU resources while completing the given tasks.
My only issue with this program is that you cannot save playlists for later. You can play the music, shut down the app, and, when you restart it, the previous playlist is no longer available.
Still, the application comes without a price, is efficient, and has easy to configure settings. With that being said, I think it's worth installing this audio utility on your Mac.
