WaniKani Notifier is an extension that notifies you when there are new reviews available at WaniKani. It notifies you via a notification and an optional sound jingle. Both can be changed in the options page. Clicking the notification or the toolbar button takes you directly to the review page.
Google Notifier keeps you up to date with notifications of new mail and events.
