Import videos from your local folders to your iTunes library.

VideoDrive provides you with a solution for importing clips into your iTunes library. This program might come in handy if you're dealing with incompatibility issues between your videos and the iTunes application.

Before using this utility on your Mac you will need to install several missing components. Once you finish completing the steps, you can start importing videos, configure the app's settings according to your needs, and let the program add your clips to your iTunes library.

The tool supports drag-and-drop actions, helps you find missing metadata and subtitles, and preserves the quality of the original clips.

In my testing, the program failed to add two of the 3 imported files (both with MKV file extension) to my iTunes library. According to the information from the homepage of the developer, MKV format is supported by the app. So, I'm not sure why VideoDrive wasn't able to add the MKV files to my iTunes library.

Another thing that bothered me was that I had to waste some time installing additional tools. Without them on your Mac, you cannot add videos from your local directories to your iTunes library.

In my opinion, you should first test the trial version of the program and then decide if it's worth buying the product for your Mac or not. The app comes with several flaws

Pros

  • Supports drag-and-drop actions
  • Works with various video formats
  • Helps you find metadata and subtitles for the imported clips

Cons

  • You need to download and install additional tools to work with this app
  • Occasionally fails to add the imported videos to iTunes
