uTorrent is a lightweight BitTorrent client written in Cocoa. There are but a few native BitTorrent clients for the Mac, and, honestly, uTorrent is the best. It is impressive how quick uTorrent is. The interface is clean and very intuitive and performance-wise, you can't do better. I have been a Vuze user since I made the switch to Mac from Windows. Using uTorrent after using Vuze is like driving a Ferrari after driving a pick-up track. Torrents are downloaded very fast. Browsing and selecting files is blazing quick, too.
The features that uTorrent makes available for Mac users are almost the same as those in the Windows version. However, it has been a trend for the developers to take their time to apply new upgrades to the Mac version. For example, Windows users have had a web interface for months that they can access to control their torrents from anywhere. Only but recently has the Mac version been rumored to get it. uTorrent is not the most complete BitTorrent client that you get. Actually, the features are pretty basic. For the average user, however, they suffice. And the fact that uTorrent does everything faster than its competitor makes uTorrent the ideal BT client out there.
With uTorrent you can download and seed torrents, select specific files to download or download the whole thing, set upload and download limits and automatically stop seeding after a certain ratio has been achieved, and more.
