Every movie you rent or purchase from the iTunes store is DRM protected. Hence, you cannot transfer it to another device, such as a tablet or mobile phone, for playback. TunesKit for Mac is a program that helps you get rid of DRM protections from your iTunes M4V rentals and purchases and convert them to dozens of media formats.
The application communicates well with the iTunes utility as it gives you access to a list containing all M4V rentals and purchases. All you need to do is to select the input files and output format, choose a destination folder, and let the program get the job done.
The program took almost 10 minutes to convert a 4-minute video. So, you might have to wait a while for the application to convert large movies to the preferred output profiles.
Another thing that bothers me about TunesKit for Mac is the fact that it lacks editing options. For instance, you cannot extract and convert a certain segment from an M4V file. So, the app is quite limited and considering it isn't cheap, it might not be the best solution there is.
Briefly, it's up to you to decide if it's worth buying this application for your Mac or not.
It removes DRM protection of any movie you purchased from the iTunes store.
