Tubbler is a simple Mac application that enables you to watch YouTube clips directly from your desktop, without using the web browser.
All you need to do in order to use this app is to drag-and-drop YouTube videos URLs from the browser or other third-party apps over its integrated video player and you can watch the clips. This app doesn't require Adobe Flash Player to be installed on your Mac and play videos. This way, it helps you save battery life and decrease CPU usage while enjoying the YouTube videos on your desktop.
However, you still have to use the web browser to look for YouTube clips and drag their URLs over Tubbler's interface. It would've been better if the app had a built-in search tool to help you find YouTube clips or an offered log in feature. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.
Furthermore, Tubbler doesn't allow you to subscribe to YouTube channels or drag-and-drop entire playlists from the browser onto the app's interface.
In my opinion, you can find better solutions for watching YouTube videos from your desktop. Many similar applications allow you to log in your YouTube account, browse channels, search clips, etc. Hence, I'd say you should look for other programs if you wish to play YouTube clips on your desktop.
