Trillian is an instant message (IM) client that supports lots of services. With it, you can connect to Windows Live, Facebook, Twitter, Gtalk, AIM, Yahoo, among others.
When you first start the app, there is a small registration process. You need to create and confirm an account with Trillian so that you can use the syncing features and push notifications on the iPhone. After that, you simply add the services that you want to use. In my testing, I used WIndows Live. The account was added without problems and my contacts were shown just exactly like I have them arranged on the official Windows Live Messenger app. Talking with the help of them was fast and smooth.
During my time with the app, it remained connected and I was able to chat with no problems. From the Preferences window, you can setup your privacy settings and some general settings.
In short, if you are looking for a multi-protocol IM client, Trillian can be a great choice. I am going to keep it for a while to see how it fares in the long run.
Pros
- It works like a charm
- Lots of protocols supported
Cons
- None
