Teddy Floppy Ear - The Race is a very cute arcade racing game. You play as a teddy bear who lives in Animalville. The summer holidays are around the corner and the animals who live in the city find out that a go-kart championship is coming to town, so you decide to partake in it. This story is told by a very nice introduction scene where you meet all the main characters. After the intro, you can choose one of the many game modes available. There are ten different tracks available; five night tracks and five day tracks. You can drive 10 different go-kart models, which are based on real cars. Some of them are locked when you first start playing. Those models along with aesthetic improvements to all your cars are unlocked as you play the game. In my first race in the Single Race mode, I unlocked a very nice-looking muffler. There is a Season Mode that lets you play a set of races and you can pick the difficulty of your opponents before starting to race.
The gameplay is quite good, but with some minor graphical problems. At times, the frame rate goes down considerably and most of the track is blurry at times. The controls are easy to learn and master and the power-up system is fun to use. You can pick power-ups that let you attack your enemies directly or by putting obstacles in their way.
In conclusion, I would say that this is a great casual racing game. It only costs $1.99 and despite some very minor issues, it plays quite well.
