Sparrow is an easy-to-use tool developed by Sparrow Team and is used for managing e-mails. It comes with support for most of the e-mail providers: Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Mobile Me, Google apps, and others.
The key feature of the application is that it allows Mac users to manage multiple accounts from a single interface, and does not require browsing the Internet for every specific e-mail hosting site. It contains all of the features a normal mail contains, and the users are allowed to compose mails, to check the inbox, the spam folder, as well as the sent box and the conversation history.
The interface is simple and well organized, and the menu is easy-to-use, so users will not have any problem with getting familiar with the tool. Another useful function of the application is that it allows the users to connect to Facebook, a well-known social network.
All taken into consideration, you should give Sparrow a try; it comes with support for most used e-mail hosting websites, a modern look, and can save valuable time spent on browsing the Internet.
Pros
- A counter for unread messages
- Multiple accounts management
- IMAP support
- Appealing interface
- Support for most used e-mail hosting websites
- Easy-to-use menu
Cons
- Multiple signatures aren't allowed
- You can't move messages between IMAP accounts
It reminds me of Microsoft's Outlook, which has only one big advantage, compared to other mail services – it doesn't require a browser. This feature might make me try it.
As I came across this program I thought that it might be useful to have access to all e-mails without having trouble with switching to different tabs. The main advantage of this application, to my mind, is that the browser you use is not slowed down because of the multiple tabs. On the other hand, this might be a problem if you have more than two mails on different e-mail hosting websites.
