Shapes is a drawing utility that enables you to design charts and diagrams with minimum effort. The application gives you access to plenty of geometrical shapes, provides you with simple to configure settings, and lets you export your projects to multiple image formats, like PNG, JPEG, SVG, etc.

This program allows you to draw lines, add various geometrical shapes to your diagrams, include text content, and even attach images from your local directories to the charts. The new version of the application also enables you to add brackets to your diagrams.

The Inspector window displays individual options for any type of annotation or geometrical shape you add to your diagram. These settings are very simple to configure so even people with little graphic design experience can easily get the results they need.

Furthermore, you can print or share your designs directly from the program's interface. The application allows you to send the diagrams via email, Twitter or Facebook account to your family and friends.

However, you can find many free image editors that provide you with the aforementioned features and more. And considering Shapes comes with a price, I'd say you should try using its cheap alternatives (for example, GIMP, which is open source).
