Photos Duplicate Cleaner 1.5

As you probably guessed already, this application helps you find and remove duplicate images from your Mac.

Programs of this type usually come in handy when you wish to organize your photo collection accordingly by deleting unnecessary copies from your local folders.

All you need to do in order to scan folders for image duplicates is to select a directory from your local drives and the app immediately starts looking for photo copies. You can also choose which folders and file types should be excluded from the scanning process.

A very important aspect about this app is the fact that it immediately scans any selected folder. In my testing, it took less than 10 seconds to scan a 24 GB folder. In addition, Photos Duplicate Cleaner supports a wide variety of image formats and allows you to preview all found duplicates before permanently removing them from your computer.

Nevertheless, there are two things I don't like about this Mac utility: it doesn't let you select multiple folders for scan and it lacks the Send To Trash option.

All in all, this program proves to be a smart addition to your collection of Mac apps as it offers a simple and efficient way to expose and delete photo duplicates. And since it comes without a price tag, I can't find any reason why you shouldn't at least try it on your computer and see how it works.
