MovCaptioner is a captioning or subtitling app for the Mac. It allows you to load your videos and create subtitles for it that you can later export in a variety of different formats. MovCaptioner has a bunch of features that make it an ideal tool for video captioning. It lets you load your video file and you can listen to it and caption it at the same time. You can set the application to constantly repeat the video so that you get plenty of chances to write down what is being said. You can customize how many seconds of your video are repeated. I chose 4 seconds, because that is the maximum time that I leave subtitles on the screen. When you are done with those 4 seconds (or whatever time you work with), you can simply move to the next subtitle by using one of the available keyboard hotkeys.

The application works very well. And I found that it was easy to subtitle a video with it. The only thing that I would change is the QuickTime player. I would like something bigger and more responsive than QuickTime, but I reckon that MovCaptioner probably uses QT to open videos, so that might not be possible.

I like that it supports pretty much every subtitle format out there, including SRT and SUB.
