MacStitch is a graphics editing tool that allows you to cross-stitch on your Mac. The app lets you create cross-stitch designs manually or convert an image so that it looks like a cross-stitch.

Honestly, I had never heard of cross-stitching until I stumbled upon this app, but it looks like a fun thing to do. I don't have the patience to do it in real life, but on the Mac, it is very easy.

The demo version of this app doesn't let you open your pictures to convert them and it doesn't let you save your work either. Other than those two limitations, the demo lets you use all the functionality that MacStitch has to offer.

The demo comes with quite a few samples that you can open and modify (but not save). This gives you a taste of how the app works. For example, I did my testing with a sample image of a WW2 military plane. There are six buttons below the app's toolbar that let you change what the image is made of. By default, it was made of color blocks, but you can change them to black symbols, color symbols and even imitations of stitches. Then, you can add or remove blocks by using the left and right buttons of your mouse. This makes it really easy to start creating designs or modifying existing ones.

All in all, if you are into cross-stitching, MacStitch can be an interesting app to have.
