MacCleanse is a system optimization and maintenance tool. It allows you to automate a variety of system maintenance and optimization tasks to save you valuable time and even some hard drive space, as well. The application divides all of its tasks under categories. There are eleven categories: Archives, Caches, Downloads, Instant Messaging, Languages, Logs, Miscellaneous, Recent File Histories, Trash, Unused Files, and Web Browsing. Each category contains a number of tasks. For example, the Caches category allows you to clear the Caches of different apps and Mac components, like Acquisition, iCal, Office, Quicktime, and various system caches. Under the Languages category, you can remove all the system language files that you are not using. This allows you to save space and sometimes speed up your system.

There is an interesting feature that allows you to remove all the files that haven't been used lately. You can set a time frame for this. If you are not careful using this feature, you might erase important files. Thankfully, you can review the scan before files are deleted.

All in all, this app has some interesting features. It has a good design and it is very smart. It also allows you to customize your scans and save your settings for improved speed in future uses.
