Mac App Blocker is a simple utility that comes in handy if you're sharing your computer with other people and wish to prevent them from opening your files and utilities.
The first time you run the app on your Mac you need to enter a master password. Make sure it's a passcode that's easy to remember as you cannot recover it if you forget it. You can password-protect as many Mac apps as you like, remove them from the protection list if necessary, and choose between various blocking profiles.
Another great thing is that the program lets you know if anyone tried and failed to launch a protected app. Mac App Blocker's Menu Bar icon turns red as soon as a failed attempt is recorded.
In my testing, the application worked flawlessly. It immediately password-protected the selected program and changed its icon color as soon as I entered the wrong pass-code.
With that being said, this program proves to be a reliable solution for protecting the applications from your Mac. Furthermore, it comes with an affordable price. So, I can't find any reasons why you shouldn't try it on your Mac if you want to prevent unauthorized users from accessing your programs.
