iTextExpress is a simple fast and free document processing tool. Great built-in features distinguish this piece of software from a long line of like document editing alternatives. This freeware program allows you to embed the whole external documents within your document, such as PDF or spreadsheets.
If you cannot afford Microsoft Office or you are not satisfied with your current document editing software and you would like something very lightweight and cheap, then this alternative is for you. It costs nothing and lets you do amazing things with your documents: include other documents as references, customize your text to your needs, and quickly navigate through your text.
The program's website claims that the latest version is about 4 megabytes, but in reality it is nearly 10 megabytes in a zipped format. If you wanted to preview screenshots on the developer's page, you won't find them, the files are missing. I find it very strange when the developers sell a product through their website but do not upkeep the site itself. Does it mean their software also lacks attention?
- Has a "bigger brother" - a Pro version
- The program's website is not as great as the program
