Info updated on:

iCollections is a simple Menu Bar utility designed to provide you with a quick and easy way to organize the icons from your desktop.
This application might come in handy to Mac users who are dealing with a large amount of files and folders on their desktops and require an efficient way to arrange them on their screens. When launching iCollections for the first time on your computer, you will be greeted by a Welcome window that explains how the app works and offers you several basic settings (for instance, choosing the default collection number).

From your Menu Bar you can start creating new collections and name them however you like. Then, all you need to do is drag-and-drop the files and/or folders from your desktop onto the collection screen. The program lets you adjust the opacity level of the collections' windows, move the item groups anywhere on your desktop, and much more.

This new version provides you with an extra feature: Photo Frames option. When creating a Photo Frame collection you can choose any folder containing pictures. Then, the application will display all photos as slideshow, within the built collection window.

Briefly, I think it's worth buying this app for your Mac. iCollections is full of useful features, is very simple to use, and comes with an affordable price.

I was a fan of DragThing for about 30 years but had to forget it because the newer MACOS do not support it. Since about three years, I have been using some replacements but was never happy with any of them. iCollections is a perfect replacement. If I am somewhat proficient, I may even find better features.

It's the first thing I install on a new Mac. It's a must have app.
