Hero Academy is an entertaining board game that puts your strategy skills to the test through numerous challenges. The app features plenty of helpful tutorials where you can learn how to move your troops on the board, use power-ups, and defeat your opponents before they wipe out your heroes.
After you complete the training quests you can move on to the challenges and attempt to down-rank highest scores of other users. You can also challenge online users to play a quick match, but for this you need to create a personal Hero Academy account (directly from the app's interface, doesn't require account validation from browser).
When playing against online users your goal is to move your heroes on the board and attack the enemy's troops before you run out of moves. Your heroes can bring individual skills (using sword, bow, spells, etc.) so you need to use your strategic skills and guide them adequately in order to defeat your enemy.
The one thing I don't like about this game is that it doesn't allow you to play in fullscreen mode.
As for the rest, Hero Academy is a fun and addictive board game that can keep you in front of your Mac for hours. The app provides you with plenty of challenges, brings you nicely-drawn graphics and animations, and allows you to play against users from all over the world.
