Guidance 1.4

Guidance is an app that can remind you of the time when you need to pray. It is programmed with the Islamic prayer times.

You can choose between Shafi, Malaki, Hanbali and Hanafi as your Madhab. From the preferences window, you also have to set a calculation method, which is a standard used to determine the sunrise angle and sunset angle to calculate the Fajr and Isha times. There are six pre-determined methods, but you can also add your own angles.

Guidance sits on the menubar and it won't bother you until it is time for your next prayer. If you click on the menubar icon, you will see a list of all the upcoming prayer times. The menubar icon shows a countdown until the next prayer time.

The app supports the Growl notification system, so it will use that to send you notifications. If you venture into the preferences window, you can customize how you will be notified, the sounds that will be played and their volume.

In short, Guidance can be a very useful tool to remind you of prayer times. The app sits on the menubar and you won't even notice it until it is time to pray.
