FontGenius is a Mac utility created for users to help them easily examine pictures and identify the text styles that were used in the imported photos. The application might prove to be of good use to graphic designers who are looking for new font types or simply want to identify text styles in their images.
This program comes with a straightforward interface, supports drag-and-drop actions, immediately offers you the scan results, and features a built-in help guide. It also provides you with the ability to search font styles online, on websites like MyFonts or Google.
In my testing, I used the trial version of the application. Even though I wasn't able to import any images due to trial version restrictions, the app allowed me to test its capabilities by using one of its sample photos. Sadly, the program identified one out of the 2 selected text styles.
Another thing I don't like is that the integrated search utility displays its results in your default web browser instead of the main window of the FontGenius tool.
In conclusion, I don't think it's worth buying an application that doesn't work properly. I'd say you should look for a different Mac utility to identify text styles on your computer.
