DropCopy is an application that allows you to easily share files between your Macs. When you click on the application's icon on your Dock, a small button will appear in the top-left corner of your screen.

You can drag files to this icon and it will expand with a list of LAN destinations. When you drop the file, a file transfer will be initiated automatically, and you can see its progress both on the icon and on the menubar.

DropCopy is a nice alternative for users who don't have Mac OS X Mountain Lion and want to share files in a fashion similar to AirDrop. Although DropCopy doesn't now work exactly like AirDrop, they are similar. In the case of DropCopy, you need to add the destinations manually, though.

Most of the application settings can be accessed from the menubar, from where you can add LAN and SFTP locations, cancel transfers, and reset the drop zone location (in case you moved it and can't find it). When you switch to another application, the drop zone will be hidden until you click the Dock icon again.

DropCopy is free for personal use with up to 3 other Macs. If you plan to use in a commercial setting, the price is $25.
