This utility was created to help you analyze disk space usage on your local directories as well as various types of external storage devices.
You can use the app to scan entire local drives, specific directories, mounted DMG files, the contents of external storage devices, such as USB sticks, CD and DVD disks, etc. Once the scanning process is complete, the utility gives you access to a complete report and you can decide which files and folders you need to be removed from your Mac.
It's important to pay attention while selecting files and directories for deletion. You might end up removing a system files from your Mac and damage the performance of your computer.
The only thing missing from this app is the ability to permanently delete the selected unnecessary files or folders from your Mac. Instead, you have access to an option to send data to Trash or move them to another folder location. However, this isn't a big deal, at least for me.
Hence, if the aforementioned aspect doesn't matter to you, Disk Expert might be the app for you. It might prove to be of good use if you want to easily get rid of unnecessary large files and folders from your Mac and reclaim disk space.

It wasn't of any help to me. Slowed down my Mac sinisterly :(
This program is a part of Element 5 pushed via the Mac Store. I've bought it with a package and ran just the program to remove duplicate photo files. It worked well until I turned the computer off. Then it didn't work. I had to replace my system and lost everything on my hard disc. (Recovered thanks to Carbonite). The company did not stand by the product. No refund. They said I should have made a bootable disc first but that was nowhere in the instructions. Do not purchase. It may destroy your system!
