Disk Doctors Photo Recovery may help you recover lost media. This app can scan your drives to find files that have been recently deleted or files that were on memory cards that have been formatted.

There are many filtering options that allow you to specifically search for a file type to speed up the process.

This tool can be used only with photos, videos and audio files and it supports the most common file types, like JPG, GIF, AVI, MP4, MOV, RAW, etc.

Using this app really couldn't be any easier. First, you select the drive you want to scan and then select the file types that you want to search for. By default, they are all selected, but you can use "Deselect all" button and only check the ones you want. After that, the application will start scanning, and while it is doing that, it will show the files that have been found and the elapsed time. You don't get an estimate of how long the process is going to take, but you can stop the process or pause it at any time.

When I tested the app, I let it scan for 5 minutes and it still was at 0% done, with 157 files found. I only was searching for JPEG files. After the application is done scanning or after you stop it, you can preview the files found and recover them.
