CDR files are created by using the CorelDRAW application, a well-known graphics design program (which was discontinued after version 11). Unfortunately, Mac OS X doesn't bring you a default tool to open files with this type of extension. For this reason apps like CDRViewer were developed.
The utility provides you with a very intuitive interface and uses a small amount of CPU resources while running. All you need to do is to select the CDR file you wish to preview and the app immediately displays the image on its main window.
As you can see on the main window of the app, the developers suggest you to acquire the Pro version (PrintLab Studio) of this tool to be able to export CDR files as Vector PDFs.
In my testing, everything worked except one thing: the part where you try to move the graphic on the main screen of the app. On the bottom of the interface you can see a hint saying that the program allows you to complete the aforementioned task; sadly, when I clicked the image and tried to drag it on the main window, the graphic stood still.
Cutting a long story short, CDRViewer is a simple yet helpful app for users who wish to open CDR files on their Macs.
