CDR is a file format created by the Corel Corporation to store vector graphic images and drawings. Unfortunately, Mac OS X doesn't provide you with a default utility for opening this type of files. For this reason, applications like CDRViewer were developed.
CDRViewer is exactly what its name implies: a program for importing and viewing CorelDRAW files on your Mac. Simply select the file you wish to preview and that's it. The application also features an option to zoom in the image files.
You also have access to several sample files and direct access to a webpage from where you can download CDR files.
In my testing, the program worked perfectly. It immediately imported the selected CDR file and was very simple to handle.
However, unlike the Pro version of this application, this variant doesn't offer you an option to export the imported CDR files to other formats, like PDF. The Pro version comes with a reasonable price which is definitely worth it if you plan on using the app often.
In conclusion, I don't think it's worth installing this utility on your Mac if the aforementioned issue means much to you. The Pro version provides you with more features, at an affordable price.
